Kelly decided to make a video call to her best friend, Father Brennan, whom she was on first-name terms with. He too was deaf and spoke fluent French sign language
"- Hi, there's someone I'd like you to meet. This is my fiancé Julian."
She pressed a button to move the camera so the father could see Julian.
"Hello, Father.
- Hello Julian, so you want to marry my best friend?
- Yes, Father.
- How long have you known each other?
- Six months, Father.
- And you're already thinking about marriage? Kelly, tell me the truth, are you pregnant?
Kelly turned the camera around again.
"- Yes." she confessed, blushing
- Well, I can't marry you now. You've sinned, you'll do penance for nine months. After the birth I'll marry you, but until then you'll have to live separately.
"- Okay," said Kelly and Julian, disappointed, then Kelly hung up.
